HYDERABAD: A dozen Group 4 aspirants, all girls, who lost their way and reached another examination centre on Saturday, could still make it to their allotted centre, thanks to the selfless efforts of S. Rajasekhar Reddy, an inspector from Medchal police station and his staff.
Reddy, who was posted on Group 4 examination bandobast duty, was going around the exam centers. On his way to a centre, he noticed some girls in a confused state as they had come to the wrong center. He spoke to them and personally assisted the girls to their respective centres and instructed his staff to stay alert and drop them on time.
“I noticed a student standing confused before CMR college Kandlakoya village. When our staff asked her she said that she was allotted a CMR center but she was not allowed inside. On rechecking the hall ticket, I found that the examination centre was in CMR college premises but three kilometres away,” Rajasekhar said.
“It was a similar tale of 11 more students. I arranged for extra vehicles, checked their center codes and dropped them off before 9.45 am, the last entry time,” Rajashekhar said.
CMR college campus that is spread over 10 km has three examination centers. The students, in their hurry to be on time, did not notice the centre’s four-digit code.
After the examination, the students, their family members along with villagers from Kandlakoya personally met Rajasekhar Reddy and thanked him for his wonderful gesture.
