Kanaka Durga temple to ensure swift darshan for devotees
VIJAYAWADA: Deputy Chief Minister Kottu Satyanarayana, who holds the endowments portfolio, on Friday ordered authorities to initiate all measures to ensure that devotees arriving at the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada have their darshan swiftly during the upcoming Navaratri festivities.
The deputy CM reviewed arrangements for the Dasara festival on Friday with NTR district collector S. Dilli Rao, police commissioner Kanti Rana Tata and other officials.
Speaking to reporters later, Satyanarayana said VIPs and VVIPs would go to the temple through lifts, without touching the ghat road, which will be totally for devotees in queue lines. However, a final call will be taken after holding discussions with public representatives and officials of endowments, police, revenue and other departments concerned.
Commissioner Kanti Rana said weekends and Mula Nakshatram days would witness more rush. Thus arrangements are being made in a planned way not to cause any inconvenience to devotees or hurt their sentiments. Additional crowds are also expected compared to the last two years when restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic limited the number of devotees during the festivities.
Endowments commissioner Hari Jawaharlal, temple executive officer D. Bramarambha, DCPs Lakshmipathi and Srinivas Rao, ACP Harshavardhan, temple EEs Koteswara Rao and Ramadevi were among those present.
