Teachers agree to attendance on face recognition app, says Botsa
VIJAYAWADA: Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana on Thursday declared that government teachers in the state have agreed to use face recognition app on their mobile phones to mark their attendance.
On its part, the government has agreed to resolve the glitches in the face recognition application. The minister was speaking to media after holding talks with majority teachers’ organisations. He claimed that 86 percent of teachers have registered their attendance on this app.
Satyanarayana said after coming to power, YSRC government led by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has given high priority for developing the education sector.
He disclosed that the CM wants 670 vacant MEO posts to be filled. In this regard, the minister said 248 government teachers will be appointed as MEOs on basis of their seniority.
He maintained that the existing attendance system is nothing new. He asserted that they are implementing only what is there in the service rules.
