Cervical carcinoma patient gets new lease of life
VIJAYAWADA: Doctors of American Oncology Institute at Kanuru in Vijayawada gave a new lease of life to a 68-year-old female patient suffering from cervical carcinoma with hydro / pyometra.
Consultant clinical oncology Dr. Anila Patibandla explained that cervical carcinoma is a serious health concern that demands specialised care and treatment. Their treatment approach included intensive chemoradiotherapy followed by transcervical hydrometra drainage. The patient then underwent brachytherapy, a highly targeted radiation therapy.
Dr Anila said early detection, multidisciplinary approach, personalised treatment planning, and collaborative efforts helped the patient get good and best treatment.
