Little Flower’s 1972 batch reunites, institutes ‘Brother Dominic award’

HYDERABAD: Going back in time by half a century, students of Little Flower high school at Chirag Ali Lane, who completed their Class 10 in 1972, had a reunion on Friday. The alumni — doctors, two IPS officers, engineers, scientists, businessmen, lawyers and NRIs —surprised everyone by coming dressed up in their school uniform.

Some of the students remarked, “the backbenchers have made it big in life.”

Around 40 alumni from among 100 students gathered for the ‘memorable’ reunion.

Venkatesh Mutyala, who said he had landed from New York on Friday, said “Nothing can supplement the joy of meeting my classmates. My ticket was confirmed three hours before my travel. I could not miss this momentous occasion. We recalled the good old days and laughed, most of the backbenchers are big names now.”

The ‘students’ went to their classrooms, sat in the benches where they used to sit, clicked pictures and exchanged notes.

“Three of our teachers, Sunanda Pandey, Narasimhulu, and Mary Christina, came to join us,” said Durga Prasad, former DG of the CRPF.
Dr M.V. Ranga Rao, said, “Our favorite was ‘bun maska’ from John Bakery in Abids. Life used to be so simple.”

Brother Shajan Anthony, principal of the school, said, “the 1972 batch students have announced the Brother Dominic Award, in the honour of the then principal.”
