DGP Opens Traffic PS in Vijayawada, Turns Nostalgic
VIJAYAWADA: AP DGP K.V. Rajendranath Reddy inaugurated the newly established Ajith Singh Nagar traffic police station in NTR district on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, he recalled that 13 years ago, he had been the Vijayawada police commissioner.
“There has been a lot of change since then. Traffic has increased,” the DGP remarked.
He said Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu and VMC commissioner Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar have cooperated in quickly setting up the new Ajith Singh Nagar traffic PS. He pointed out that similarly, traffic police stations have also been set up at Nandigama and Jaggayyapet to deal with the increased traffic.
Those present at inauguration of the traffic police station include Malladi Vishnu, Swapnil Dinkar, police commissioner Kanti Rana Tata, deputy police commissioners Vishal Gunni, Ajitha Vejendla and Moka Sattibabu, city mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, joint collector Sampath Kumar, ADCPs Ch. Lakshmipati, P. Venkata Ratnam, G. Ramanamurthy and D. Prasad, North ACP Ch. Ravikant and Traffic ACP G. Srinivasa Rao.
