Cops posted at Revanth’s house develop Covid fears
Hyderabad: Bandobast duties for police officials come with a lot of stress and strain. It is more so in the present times with the threat of a third wave of Covid-19 lurking in the corner.
As many as 50 policemen, who were posted at the Jubilee Hills residence of TPCC chief, A Revanth Reddy for the past two days are now a worried lot as the Congress leader has tested positive. He has urged all those who came in contact with him to get tested.
Following Reddy’s Monday shocker, policemen posted at his residence are learnt to have called each other to enquire about their health status. Meanwhile, officials at the Jubilee Hills police station instructed all their staff to mandatorily wear face masks and use sanitizers at frequent intervals. It is learnt that some policemen, who worked at Reddy’s residence, have sought permission for home isolation.
Jubilee Hills inspector Jubilee Hills police station said "We were never in direct contact with Reddy. We were all posted outside his residence. And, no person has shown any Covid symptoms."
Banjara Hills ACP M Sudharshan had come into contact with Reddy and was even involved in an argument with the Congress leader from close quarters.
