CM Jagan to flag off 146 new ambulances (108 service) today

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy will flag off 146 new ambulances for the 108 Service, at the CM Camp Office on July 3.

The state government has procured 146 new ambulances to replace the old ones that have covered more than 2,50,000km so far and are undergoing frequent repairs. For the new ambulances, state government spent Rs 34.79 crores (including equipment).

Out of the 146 new ambulances, Anakapalli district will get four, Anantapur five, Annamayya eight, Bapatla four, Chittoor eight, East Godavari one, Eluru four, Guntur one, Kakinada three, Konaseema two, Krishna three, Kurnool seven, Nandyala 13, Nellore 14, NTR six, Palnadu seven, Parvathipuram Manyam two, Brightness 14, Sri Sathya Sai 7, Srikakulam 4, Tirupati seven, Visakhapatnam two, Vizianagaram 11, West Godavari two and YSR seven.

The health department said the break-up of the total amounts spent on ambulance services from 2020 to 2023 were: Capital Expenditure Rs 135.05 crore for maintenance of 108 ambulances; operating expenditure of Rs 188.56 crore per annum. The manpower at field-level is 3,745 persons and another 311 persons for the Emergency Response Center.

They said that as many as 33,35,670 people received emergency services through 108 Ambulance from 2020 July to 2023 June.
