VISHAKHAPATNAM: Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next two days.
“Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely at isolated places and strong winds with a speed of 30-40 kmph are likely at isolated places over the same areas. Hot and uncomfortable weather forecast at isolated places over north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam,” an IMD Amaravati report said on Monday evening.
It said this was due to the cyclonic circulation over central parts of Southwest Bay of Bengal which now lay over Southwest and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level.
Lower tropospheric, westerly and north westerly winds are prevailing over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, the report said.
