11K 2BHKs distributed in GHMC areas
HYDERABAD: Approximately, 11,700 2BHK houses were distributed in 24 Assembly constituencies coming under nine locations in GHMC limits as part of the first phase under the Dignity Double Bedroom Colony lottery, here on Saturday. The state government ensured that 500 beneficiaries were chosen from each constituency.
The authorities, including ministers, civic authorities and public representatives, assured those who missed out in the first batch that houses will be given to every eligible person, albeit in a phased manner.
According to GHMC officials, construction of one lakh houses had been undertaken in 109 areas at a cost of Rs 10,000 crore. Of them, 69,532 houses have been completed in 73 areas.
The process of distribution of house certificates to beneficiaries in Kollur Patancheru constituency, Tellapur municipality, was overseen by finance minister T. Harish Rao, MLAs Raja Singh, Danam Nagender, Prakash Goud, Maganti Gopinath and Mahipal Reddy and district collector Sarath.
Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav along with MLAs Vivek and Madhavaram Krishna Rao inaugurated double bedroom houses at Bahadur Palli under Kutbullapur constituency in Medchal district. They included 900 houses in Bahadur Pally, 1620 houses in Pochampally and 144 houses in Gajularamaram.
The minister distributed documents allotting houses to 1700 beneficiaries belonging to Sanathnagar, Kutbullapur, Kukatpally and cantonment constituencies under the lottery system.
