Visakhapatnam: A video clip showing doctors treating the victim of an accident at the Kurupam Primary Health Centre in Kurupam under Parvathipuram Manyam district using the torch of a mobile phone has gone viral in north coastal Andhra.
On Friday at about 10:30 p.m., two victims injured in an accident had been brought for treatment. The accident had occurred when the brakes of an auto-rickshaw failed and it overturned near Goyipaka village under GL Puram mandal. Ten persons riding in the auto had been injured, with two of them suffering serious injuries.
While the night doctor was stitching the wound, power went off due to load shedding. A nurse then used her mobile phone torch, so that the doctor could continue stitching the wound.
“Power went off for only two minutes. While a staff member went to switch on the generator, the doctor continued her process with the help of the mobile phone light,” Parvathipuram Headquarter Hospital superintendent Dr. Vagdevi said.
