Boat capsizes, damaged in Kakinada; Owner seeks govt help
Boat was separated from the anchor ropes and hit a rock at the harbour due to high tides, following which it collapsed
Kakinada: A boat capsized after it hit a rock at the fishing harbour in Aminabad village of U. Kothapalli mandal in Kakinada district.
The boat owner K. Chinnabbayi of Uppada village said that he went to the sea on Saturday and returned last night. He anchored his boat at the fishing harbour at Ameenabada village.
Due to high tidal waves, the boat was separated from the anchor ropes and hit a rock at the harbour, following which it collapsed. The underneath of the boat has been completely damaged and the loss is estimated to be around '10 lakh. He requested the government to help to purchase another boat.
