Anti-Maoist pamphlets create panic in Mulugu
Warangal: Anti-Maoist pamphlets appeared in the name of Adivasi-Girijana Sangala Ikya Vedika created panic among the residents of the agency villages of Veerabhadrapuram, Palem and Pathrapuram in Venkatapuram mandal of the Mulugu district on Monday.
The pamphlets stated, “We do not want Maoist party and let us live our lives”. The agency villages were worried about what would be the reaction of the outlaws if they learned about the pamphlets.
Meanwhile, the members of the people’s organisation alleged that police officials were behind the appearance of the pamphlets in the villages in the name of Adivasi organisations, creating panic among the residents.
A few days ago, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district superintendent of police Pulla Karunakar conducted a coordination meeting with the police officials of various Maoist-affected districts, which was attended by Ramagundam CP Rema Rajeswari, Mulugu SP Gouse Alam and OSD Ashok Kumar and others.
The meeting discussed the necessary pre-emptive measures in the Maoist-affected areas in view of the upcoming Assembly elections. The police officials of the districts also decided to work in tandem to step up vigilance on the movements of the Maoists and their sympathisers by sharing information.
