Warangal:The second phase of training for World Heritage Volunteers (WHV), themed 'Working on the Future,' commenced at the historic Ramappa temple in Mulugu district. A diverse group of 32 volunteers hailing from various parts of India and countries such as Egypt, Spain, Italy, and Dubai were carefully selected to participate in this training. The programme is scheduled to run for 12 days, from October 2 to October 13, at the Ramappa temple.
The training sessions, overseen by experts, will encompass in-depth knowledge about historical structures, including their construction methods, the technology employed, and their cultural significance. Volunteers will also gain practical exposure to historic structures through field inspections after completing their classes.
As the chief guest, Superintendent of Police Gouse Alam expressed his appreciation for the formation of new societies, comprising youth, organizations, and site managers, as part of the World Heritage Volunteers-2023 project, in celebration of UNESCO's 50th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention. He commended the voluntary participation of youth in understanding and preserving heritage structures worldwide. Through their training, these volunteers not only contribute to safeguarding world heritage structures but also raise awareness among the public about their historical importance.
The event saw the presence of representatives from the Kakatiya Heritage Trust, including Prof. M. Panduranga Rao, Sridhar Rao, and Mulugu district's Office on Special Duty, Ashok Kumar, among others.
