AP govt allocates 3 TMC water to Mylavaram
Anantapur: The state government has allocated 3 TMC feet of water to the Mylavaram reservoir from Gandikota for meeting the needs of farmers under the KC Canal ayacut.
At present, Mylavaram dam has 2.66 TMC feet of storage. 230 cusecs of water will be released through North canal and 200 cusecs from South canal to meet needs of Proddatur, Peddamudium and other areas.
Further, water will be diverted towards KC Canal ayacut from Adinimmayapalle in Kamalapuram mandal.
Incidentally, Uravakonda YSRC in-charge Y. Visweswar Reddy has requested Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to release additional water through High Level Canal and Handri Neeva project to save the standing crops in Anantapur district.
