Complaint against Farooq, Omar Abdullah for alleged objectionable remark

The petition accused Farooq of making certain anti-national remarks during an event which was shown on prime time on a news channel.

Badaun: A complaint has been filed in a court here against former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah, alleging that Farooq had made anti-national remarks during a TV show recently.

Bundu Khan, a resident of Mira Sarai, filed the plea in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Aslam Siddiqui, who has fixed December 14 for hearing the matter, petitioner's counsel Gajendra Pratap Singh said.

The petition accused Farooq of making certain anti-national remarks during an event which was shown on prime time on a leading news channel on November 25, the counsel said.

"The remarks made by Farooq have harmed country's unity, integrity and sovereignty and amounted to fanning hatred," the petitioner's counsel alleged and said "though Omar was present at the meeting, he did not deem it fit to check his father".
