Cops ban victory rallies, bursting fireworks after results
Nizamabad: Police have prohibited taking up victory rallies and bursting of firecrackers on the day of Assembly election results. In addition, prohibitory orders were promulgated under Section 144 to avoid assembling people on December 3.
The counting of votes for Nizamabad Urban, Nizamabad Rural, Bodhan, Armoor, Balkonda and Banswada Assembly constituencies will be held at Government Polytechnic College on Sunday.
Given this, Section 144 will be in place on the premises and surroundings of the counting centres and the gatherings of people within a one-kilometre radius of the centres will also prohibited. The sale of liquor will also be restricted from Sunday 6 am to Monday 6 am in view of the high-octane poll results. Mobile phones, matchboxes, and lighters are not allowed inside the counting centres and access to them will be permitted based on identity cards issued by the returning officer.
Collector and district election officer Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanth said that all the arrangements were made for the counting process. He said that the randomisation process would start at 5 am in the presence of election observers. At first, postal ballots will be counted followed by the counting of votes recorded in the EVMs. The collector, along with commissioner of police Kalmeshwar Shingenavar, inspected the arrangements for the counting process on Saturday.

Patil and superintendent of police Sindhu Sharma visited the counting centre set up at AMC Godowns on Saturday, where the counting for Kamareddy, Yellareddy and Jukkal Assembly constituencies will be held. 14 tables have been set up for each constituency and based on the number of votes, the counting process will be completed in 16 to 21 rounds.
