Medical camps in all Michaung-affected areas
Vijayawada: AP Health and Family Welfare commissioner J. Niwas has ordered District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs) to take all necessary precautionary measures ahead of the impending Michaung cyclonic storm.
He asked the DMHOs to stock sufficient medicines in advance at health centres, including in remote areas. Medical camps should be established in all areas expected to be hit by the cyclone.
The commissioner asked DMHOs to ensure that medical and health personnel are available at the headquarters for moving to the cyclone-affected areas. The officers should put in place arrangements for immediately shifting to hospitals pregnant women, who are likely to give birth this week.
He wanted anti-venom injections to be kept handy for treating snake bites at all primary health centres (PHCs).
Niwas asked district officials to send updated information to the state office from time to time in the aftermath of the cyclone. Water quality, seasonal diseases and diarrhoea should be monitored. Officials must contact the state office immediately if any assistance is required.
