Errabelli pull up officials over Devadula project

WARANGAL: Panchayatraj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Wednesday pulled up officials for delay in completion of the Devadula project. He instructed them to complete the project as early as possible keeping in view the oncoming summer season.

Reviewing execution of the Devadula project at a meeting with officials in the collectorate at Hanamkonda, the minister underlined that the project had been taken up by the state government in Palakurthy assembly segment to provide water for both irrigation and drinking purposes in four districts of Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon and Mahabubabad.

Dayakar Rao as the previous contractor was found inefficient in executing the project, he took up the matter with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. On the CM’s instructions, the project had been retendered and given to another entity.

“We have assured people of the four districts that Devadula works will be completed within six months. But even after three years, the project remains incomplete,” he regretted.

The minister asked officials to remove whatever impediments and complete construction of the project before the summer season begins. “Otherwise, officials who are responsible will have to face the consequences,” he warned.

Hanamkonda district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu and his counterparts Dr. B. Gopi in Warangal and Ch. Shiva Lingaiah in Jangaon, chief engineer Sudhakar Reddy, contractors and other officials attended the review meeting.
