Special bus services for Narsampet girl students
Warangal: Senior civil judge M. Sai Kumar, who is also chairman of Mandal Legal Services Authority (MLSA), on Wednesday inaugurated special bus services from bus stand to Government Girls Junior College in Narsampet of Warangal district for convenience of girl students.
College principal K. Suvarna had filed an application with MLSA stating that around 120 girl students belonging to poor families are studying in the college. They are facing considerable hardships in coming to the college on time. This is because the girls have to travel from their SC, ST and BC hostels in Narsampet to the college, which is 4–5 kilometres away from the town.
Likewise, the girls are also facing problems when returning to their respective hostels after college. Many of the girls end up losing their classes and sometimes cannot reach on time to even attend their examinations. The principal urged the MLSA to take initiative and arrange for special bus services.
Responding to the request, authority chairman and senior civil judge Sai Kumar issued a notice to depot manager of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) in Narsampet division to look into the matter and provide a bus facility for the girl students.
Following this, the Narsampet division RTC has arranged special bus services from the bus stand to the college in the morning at 9 a.m. and from the college to bus stand at 4 p.m.
After the inaugural ceremony, the college principal thanked MLSA and the RTC on behalf of the girl students, teaching and non-teaching staff.
Junior civil judge P. Shirisha, Narsampet bus depot assistant manager Seetharamaiah, MLSA clerk Subash, Narsampet Bar Association members, TSRTC officials and college staff were present on the occasion.
