WARANGAL: Municipal administration and urban development minister K.T. Rama Rao will inaugurate the Science Park at the Government Practicing High School (GPHS) and a model Vaikunthadhamam crematorium at Vajpayee colony in Hanamkonda on Friday.
Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) has established the Science Park under the Smart City project at a cost of '70 lakh to develop creative skills among students of GPHS at Lashkar Bazaar in the heart of Hanamkonda city. The park has 17 different types of science equipment and digital classrooms, apart from an amphitheatre.
Rama Rao will also inaugurate a model crematorium, first of its kind in the state, constructed at a cost of Rs 3.9 crore at the Vajpayee Colony in the 57th Division with funds sanctioned under Pattana Pragathi. The crematorium complex follows the Pancha Bhoota – air, water, fire, earth and sky – concept. There is a huge statue of Lord Shiva at the entrance.
There are four specialised burning platforms, rooms for firewood, separate rooms for performing rituals, separate bathrooms for men and women, locker rooms, and a landscape garden with exotic plants, all surrounded by a compound wall.
