Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation has placed orders with 2,000 granite firms to supply survey stones for the Jagananna Bhu Hakku-Bhu Raksha scheme in the state.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the corporation’s vice chairman and managing director VG Venkata Reddy said the state government had enhanced the rate for purchase of each survey stone to Rs 300 from Rs 270.
A special app was developed to keep tab on the making of survey stones as also on their sale and transport. Soon after the stones reached their destinations, their bills would be paid to the granite firms.
The granite firm owners could access the app and track the way their bills were being cleared, he said.
He said the state government was supplying stone blocks to the granite firm owners free of cost to make the survey stones.
He ruled out any irregularities in the entire exercise.
