The bench of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice C.V. Bhaskar Reddy on Friday granted time to the government to respond to a PIL seeking an increase in the number of health centres in the state. The public interest petition had been filed by Sama Ram Mohan Reddy.

The petition was connected to a batch of Covid-19 related PILs that were dismissed. The contention of the petitioner was that there must be more primary healthcare centres through enhanced budgetary allocations and prompt recruitment of health care professionals and workers.
