Hyderabad: Lambadila Aikya Vedika (Live) on Sunday sought several clarifications on the incidents surrounding the death by suicide of Dr D. Preethi, who was declared dead after undergoing treatment for four days at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences here.
In its ‘Hyderabad Declaration,’ the vedika asked who first saw Dr Preethi, when she was unconscious and why there were bruises on her hand. It asked for details of what had transpired between the time she was found unconscious and her father was informed; it asked why was the family not informed immediately.
The vedika asked how could the data and WhatsApp conversations from Dr Preethi’s mobile phone, which had a fingerprint lock, be deleted data. “What was the need to access her mobile phone,” it asked. It questioned why a “fake narrative” was created that she was searched.
“How come all heads of department (HoDs) arrived at the spot, before her father came,” the vedika asked and sought details of her treatment.
It asked why others were involved in the offence were not named, why the HoDs admonished Dr Preethi for going to the police without informing him and why the police had ignored the initial complaint from her father.
