National Cons-Endo Day: Army college organises endo-marathon
HYDERABAD: The faculty and residents of the Army College of Dental Sciences (ACDS) organised an endo-marathon on Saturday to mark National Cons-Endo Day.
The Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (IACDE) observed the day to educate the public about endodontics, conservative dentistry, restorative dentistry, and oral health at the ACDS.
The department's faculty and residents performed 202 single-visit root canal treatments on 55 patients on the day in a one-of-its-kind programme. The feat was achieved by 14 doctors working with assistance from junior postgraduate students, interns, undergraduate students and non-teaching staff.
"The patients included a mix of ex-servicemen and regular patients who were on the waiting list for a while now. We had been planning the event for about 10 days," said Dr Mamta Kaushik, head of the department, conservative dentistry and endodontics, at the college.
The event was inaugurated by Brig. K. Somashankar, Chairman, ACDS, and officiating General Officer Commanding, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, in the presence of Dental Council of India members Dr Pramod Kumar Gandra and Dr G. Vikram Reddy along with faculty and students of ACDS.
