Kannur airport ready for business: V Tulasidas
KOZHIKODE: The country's best facilities and technologies have been put in place at Kannur International Airport, which will provide hundreds of employment and entrepreneurship opportunities under one roof," according to Mr V. Tulasidas, airport managing director.
He was speaking during the entrepreneurs meet conducted by North Malabar Chamber of Commerce as part of their project, 'Destination Kannur- Opportunity Unlimited' on Wednesday.
He said that all works on the airport were in the final stage and that the inauguration will be announced soon. The runway was also being developed.
The approval from the central government and state government agencies was being processed. Once the technical and technological works are cleared, the commissioning can be done, he said.
IATA association national representative Biji E. Paul said that if the cargo and passenger facilities are improved, the airport can be ranked at international level. Efforts should be made to use all the existing facilities in Kannur district to make the airport the best in the country, he added.
District Industrial Centre general manager K.T. Abdul Majeed said that entrepreneurs will be provided the required reformation to put up their start-ups at the airport. Chamber president C.K. Thrivikramanan presided over the discussion. Chamber honorary secretary Sanjay Aryaat Poovadan, 'Destination Kannur' convener Vinod Narayanan and chamber joint secretary C. Anil Kumar were also present.
