Non-gazetted officers' union breaks Ramzan fast along with Muslim co-workers
Hyderabad: Around 3,000 members of the Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers (TNGO) Association broke the fast along with their Muslim co-workers at an Iftar party held at the TNGO Bhavan on Tuesday, with ministers Mohd Mahmood Ali and Srinivas Goud also in attendance.
After non-gazetted officers of the Muslim community took part in the congregational prayers, all guests dined together. Officials said this was a show of solidarity among those working for the welfare of the state, with no place for religious differences.
Dr S.M. Hussaini, the president of the TNGO union for Hyderabad hosted the Iftar ‘dawaat (feast)’.
“All these years, we employees were always been showing the brotherly love. This Iftar is a symbol of the unity and harmony amongst the NGO to take the state of Telangana to a model state,” he said.
The event was also attended by Waqf Board chairman Mohd Masi, State Libraries chairman Dr A.V. Sridhar, and minority chairman Imtiaz Ishaq, among others.
