Key witness in Viveka murder case admitted to hospital
ANANTAPUR: The CBI on Wednesday shifted its key eyewitness in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case, Ranganna, the victim’s watchman, to a Tirupati hospital as he was found to be suffering from respiratory issues.
The CBI, which has been keeping a sharp vigil on witnesses, said Ranganna was suffering from asthma and was being treated at a Pulivendula facility. The bureau, however, decided to move him to SVIMS for better treatment. He was escorted by a four-member team of the Kadapa Police.
The CBI has also been providing protection to Dastagiri, an accused who turned approver, with gunmen.
Sources said that Ranganna’s condition improved after treatment, but the CBI plans to move him to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for better protection and monitoring of his health.
