BJP leaders carrying forward Tilak’s mission via Ganesh festival
ADILABAD: In a special way, BJP is taking forward Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s mission of uniting the Hindus through Ganesh festival celebrations on a mass scale in the Adilabad district. Tilak had promoted the Ganesh festival to unite the masses during the freedom struggle and fight against British rule.
BJP leader Suhasini Reddy is distributing Bal Gangadhar Tilak notices to devotees at Ganesh Pandals, explaining the importance of Tilak’s mission even in the present conditions and stressing the unity of Hindus.
She is also explaining how Ganesh celebrations on a mass scale began under his leadership.
- Suhasini is visiting the Ganesh Pandals in Adilabad town and Bela mandal and distributing Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s notices to devotees.
She is distributing Bal Gangadhar Tilak with Ganesh Idol posters to the devotees and put up flexies greetings devotees at the Chowrastas in Adilabad town and at the mandal headquarters in the Adilabad assembly constituency.
In fact, leaders of all major political parties were trying to take advantage of this Ganesh festival this time, also in view of the approaching assembly elections. Congress, TRS and BJP leaders are spending their time from evening to late night at pandals.
The Ganesh pandals have become meeting points for people and devotees to exchange views on political, social, and cultural issues.
R. Mahender of Kumarpet of Adilabad town said leaders are using Ganesh pandals and celebrations as a platform for their political advantage but the same celebrations were used by Tilak to unite the Hindus against the British Raj.
