Kishan launches Meri Maati-Mera Desh drive

HYDERABAD: Union minister and Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy kicked off the party’s ‘Meti Maati-Mera Desh’ programme here for collecting soil and using it to plant saplings in memory of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country, at a ‘Amrit Van’ in New Delhi.

Kishan Reddy said the progamme honoured those who laid down their lives fighting the Razakars. The programme also envisages setting up plaques in ‘Amrit Vatikas’ with the names of martyrs in villages commemorating those who have fallen in the service of the nation.

On Monday, Kishan Reddy visited the home of freedom fighter Vandemataram Ramachandar Rao and felicitated members of his family. “We all should take inspiration from freedom fighters like Ramachandar Rao,” Kishan Reddy said.
