Karimnagar: A man in an inebriated condition tried to die by suicide near a Mahatma Gandhi statue, alleging that he was unable to bear his wife’s ‘torture,’ in Sircilla on Thursday.
Police said there were several persons at the spot but none tried to stop the man, Gadipelly Mallesham of Gandhinagar Colony.
Instead, some passersby took videos of the incident and posted them on social media, which then were widely shared.
It was left to two police personnel posted at Market circle to stop Mallesham. After he sobered up, police counselled Mallesham and sent him home
