Trinamul Congress man killed over extra-marital affair
Berhampore: A Trinamul Congress worker was murdered on Tuesday night in Murshidabad of West Bengal. The victim, Prabir Das (52), was a former TMC gram panchayat member from Jagtai area in Suti.
According to police, the poultry farmer was shot dead by armed miscreants from point blank range at Hapania village poultry farm when he was feeding chicken. Three bullet injuries were found on his head, chest and shoulder.
His relatives and employees rescued him in a pool of blood and admitted him at Mshasail Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. SP (Jangipur Police district) Ananda Roy ruled out political motive behind the murder.
He said, "Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was murdered over an extramarital affair. Three persons were arrested and the murder weapon and a motorcycle were seized."
Sources claimed that Prabir was murdered due to the extramartial affair of his wife, Rakhi Das, with a local TMC worker who allegedly engaged three contract killers to eliminate him.
