Tirupati: Prakasam district collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar has suspended six booth-level officers (BLOs) in Ongole and S.N. Padu assembly constituencies following complaints of negligence against them.
The BLOs have been identified as M. Rama Rao, Yasmin Begum, A. Ester Rani and D. Hanumantha Rao from Ongole constituency and Y. Sri Lakshmi and K. Aparna of S.N. Padu constituency.
According to a report submitted by the Electoral Registration Officer, these six BLOs failed to discharge their duties diligently. They had remained absent from meetings and surveys without prior intimation, leading to concerns about their commitment to their responsibilities.
Collector Dinesh Kumar urged all government employees to take their election duties seriously and adhere to their duties with utmost sincerity. He emphasised the significance of their role in preserving democratic values of the country.
