AP Dy CM Budi Sounds the Alarm on Cyclone Michaung
Visakhapatnam: Deputy Chief Minister Budi Mutyala Naidu has issued a stern warning to officials and farmers in anticipation of the impending cyclone Michaung, which is expected to make landfall near Nellore on Tuesday.
During his visit to villages under Madugula and Cheedikada mandals on Monday, Mutyala Naidu closely inspected the situation and provided crucial instructions to the local populace. He cautioned farmers to immediately transfer their harvested paddy to secure locations and shield them with tarpaulins, considering the IMD's forecast of heavy rainfall. Additionally, he urged farmers and villagers to avoid crossing rivulets and streams, which are rapidly swelling due to upstream rainfall.
Recognising the potential severity of the situation, Mutyala Naidu instructed local officials and VROs to remain in their respective areas to assist residents and closely monitor the situation. He also directed revenue, police, roads and buildings, and EPDCL personnel to remain accessible to the public to promptly address any emergencies.
To ensure effective coordination, the Deputy Chief Minister convened a review meeting with tahsildar officers of Cheedikada and Madugula, where he offered valuable guidance on navigating the impending storm. Local leaders accompanied Mutyala Naidu during his village visits, demonstrating a united front in the face of the impending challenge.
