Visakhapatnam: Cyclone Michaung has severely disrupted air travel in Andhra Pradesh for two consecutive days, causing widespread chaos. The cyclone's strong winds and continuous heavy rainfall led to the cancellation of a significant number of flights at major airports in the region including Vizag, Tirupati and Vijayawada.
A total of 51 flights were cancelled across these airports.
The situation escalated on Tuesday, with the Visakhapatnam international airport cancelling 23 more flights, exacerbating the travel chaos. Tirupati also reported the cancellation of all 15 flights due to adverse weather conditions.
The cancellations from Vizag airport included flights to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Cuddapah and other destinations. Altogether, 23 flights were cancelled.
Despite flooding of the airport’s vicinity, the terminal building remained unaffected. The airport director said the airport was operational round the clock and prioritizing emergency operations.

For Dec 6, the following flights were cancelled:
Flight 6E 7128 arriving from VGA had a scheduled time of arrival (STA) at 09:05am, and it was followed by the departure of Flight 6E 7063 to TIR with a scheduled time of departure (STD) at 09:25am.
Flight 6E 7912 arriving from KJB was scheduled to land at 12:45pm, and its departure counterpart, Flight 6E 7913 to KJB was scheduled to depart at 13:10pm.
