ADILABAD: The Adilabad region is experiencing chill weather coupled with foggy conditions, forcing people to remain indoors till around 8 in the morning and avoid coming out in the late evening hours too.
The temperature was expected to come further down in the coming four days after a sudden fall since Friday. People were making bonfires in the villages living on the fringes of forests or near water bodies.
Motorists were facing difficulty due to the foggy weather conditions. Even agriculture labourers were keeping off their fields in the early morning hours. School-going children are also facing much inconvenience as were the elderly due to the extreme weather conditions.
However, devotees taking various Deekshas were strictly following their rituals early in the morning and offering pujas at night despite the chill weather.
Hostel students were also affected as they had to take bath with normal water. Some hostels did not even have proper doors and windows. Students complained of shortage of blankets and bed sheets to protect themselves from the harsh weather conditions.
The destitute sleeping on pavements, railway platforms and at bus stands were also in a worse plight. Some philanthropists donated blankets to them.
