Literary events, singing, rangolis mark third day of Padma Tarang at SPMVV
Hyderabad: The third day of the 36th South Zone Inter-University Youth Festival organised here by the Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) in the name of ‘Padma Tarang' was marked by literary events, singing competitions and other programmes on Thursday.
The day saw participation of more than 30 teams from different universities in the events. Light vocal solo performances by around 11 teams in the morning session mesmerized the audience with Malayalam and Telugu songs.
Around 18 teams participated in the poster-making competition and 12 teams performed skits. The teams performed skits on the themes of atrocities against women, upholding of constitutional rights, gender equality and environment protection.
Competitions such as Western instrumental, Western group song, folk orchestra, one-act play and Rangoli were conducted in the later sessions. Around 12 teams participated in elocution competition on the topic ‘Youth and Vibrant India’.
A debate competition was also held on the opinion of the house, ‘Can G20 Presidency make India Vishwa guru?’ Later, a Rangoli event was held with students making traditional and colourful rangoli arts based on the regions they came from.
