Hyderabad: Yet another cycling track for techies
Hyderabad: Techies in IT corridor will have one more cycling track in Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Botanical Garden.
After closing the cycling track from the Biodiversity junction to Mindspace junction due to the ongoing underpass works as part of the Strategic Road Development Project (SRDP), techies had been provided with no alternative space for cycling during the weekends.
Nearly, 100 techies were utilising the 300-metre-long track per day. During weekends, the number used to rise to 300. At present, they are utilising the road at the financial district for cycling during the weekends. Under the eco-tourism development initiative, the botanical garden is developing a new cycle track inside the garden with a 15-feet width along a distance of three kilometres, which passes through a lake and the Birds’ Garden.
Garden in-charge N. Rajendra Kumar said that, during a recent visit of forest development corporation chairman Banda Narender Reddy, officials had been directed to take up eco-tourism projects like cycling track, children’s park and children’s museum.
