Congress leaders hold protest demanding probe against Adani
Hyderabad: Congress leaders led by Khairatabad DCC president C. Rohin Reddy held a demonstration at the SBI’s state head office at Gunfoundry here on Monday, as part of ongoing nationwide campaign by the party which is demanding a probe into the allegations against the Adani Group.
Party leaders asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not ready to set up a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) to investigate the allegations. “When the government can attach properties of people, why is it shying away from even initiating a probe,” Rohin Reddy said, speaking to Deccan Chronicle. “The future of SBI and LIC is at stake, as they have major investments in the Adani Group.”
Rohin Reddy demanded that the properties of the Adani Group should be attached and the businessman arrested. “The ED and CBI are used against Modi’s rivals, but not against Modi’s friends. The RBI and SEBI, which should be protecting the interests of the investors and ensuring economic stability are silent,” he alleged.
Rohin Reddy said that the favouritism shown by Modi to “this Gujarati businessman” had damaged the nation’s image of a fast-growing economy. “Adani not only put the future of LIC and SBI at stake but also that of several other public sector companies which were handed over to the businessman, during the past few years,” he said.
