HYDERABAD: City police on Thursday took Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh into preventive custody and shifted him to Mangalhat police station for a few hours. He was released in the evening.
Police officials confirmed that in view of his comments targeting a community during the recently held Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra in the city, Raja Singh was taken into custody as a preventive measure during the Hanuman jayanti procession.
The moment Raja Singh stepped out of his residence at around 11.30am, to join the procession, police took him into custody. He was released around 5pm on personal surety.
