Cab operator complains against MP Sasikala Pushpa
TIRUNELVELI: A Tirunelveli-based travels operator has submitted a petition to the Tirunelveli city police commissioner complaining that the Rajya Sabha MP L Sasikala Pushpa, recently sacked from AIADMK, had cheated him of Rs 20 lakh.
The private cabs firm owner, Rajesh (37) son of Santhosh Stephen of Santhinagar, Palayamkottai in Tirunelveli, in his petition to the Tirunelveli city police commissioner R Thirugnanam on Friday, complained that Sasikala Pushpa, had cheated him of Rs 20 lakh, a sum that he claimed to have given her in two installments as Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12 lakh in May and September 2015 respectively at the MP’s Thoothukudi residence, to get a contract to maintain the roadside garden along the NH between Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi and between Thoothukudi and Kovilpatti.
“I gave the money in the presence of the Rajya sabha MP’s husband, Lingeswara Thilagan,” said Rajesh. When he met the MP just three months ago about the contract, “Sasikala Pushpa, however, threatened me not to come to her residence seeking the money,” he said. She along with her husband had said, “she would kill him if he met her again,” alleged Rajesh, who urged the Tirunelveli city police commissioner to initiate action to get back his money from the MP.
The police commissioner R Thirugnanam, who received the complaint petition from Rajesh assured to take appropriate action on it. AIADMK advocates accompanied Rajesh to the police commissioner’s office.
