Srisailam Temple planning Pratahkala Sevas

KURNOOL: Srisailam Temple authorities are considering introduction of Pratahkala Sevas, like the Pradoshakala Seva, for offering a more convenient morning ritual for devotees. They will commence at 3 am and conclude by 11 am.

The intention behind these sevas is to avoid inconvenience faced by devotees due to the long-time gap between the two sevas at the temple.

Temple executive officer S. Lavanna said the Udayastamana Seva and Pradoshakala Seva offer an opportunity for devotees to participate in Arjita Sevas by paying a reasonable fee. These sevas ensure that regular visitors of the temple face no hindrance during their darshans.

Lavanna said the proposal of introducing Pratahkala Sevas was preceded by thorough discussions within the Vedic Committee of the devasthanam. Department heads and supervisors from various sections of the devasthanam had also been consulted.

The Pratahkala Sevas, which last year started on August 29, witnessed 52 devotees participating in the sevas, while 328 devotees performed Pradoshakala Seva. The devotees had obtained tickets online for the purpose, contributing a revenue of ₹1.35 crore to the temple, the EO added.
