Revenue staff to get ₹6,000 crore in arrears: Union

Kakinada: Andhra Pradesh Revenue Services Association president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu on Tuesday claimed that state government has agreed to pay ₹6,000 crore of arrears to revenue employees under different heads by September end.

Venkateswarlu was speaking at a meeting of revenue employees that he convened here on Tuesday.He said a meeting of revenue employees’ council involving representatives from village revenue assistant level to deputy collector level will be held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada on October 1.

The association president said revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and CCLA G. Sai Prasad will attend the meeting. He underlined that district collectors in the state are giving additional responsibilities to revenue officials, though they are not related to their department. Owing to the additional work, revenue employees are getting stressed out and facing health problems.

Venkateswarlu requested district collectors not to give such duties to revenue officials employees. He pointed out that new districts have already been formed. But no new recruitments have been done so far.

District revenue association president Pithani Trinadha Rao, state treasurer Giri Kumar Reddy, state vice president R.V. Rajesh, VROs Association state president Kona Anjaneya Kumar, VRAs Association state president G. Brahmaiah, state general secretary G. Anupama, state vice president P.S.S.N. Prasad, K.V. Subba Rao and others were present at the meeting.
