Tamil Nadu wins three awards
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was shown the three awards that the State had won under the Jal Jeevan Mission and the Swachh Bharat Mission by the State Minister for Municipal Administration K.N. Nehru, who received them at New Delhi on behalf of the government.
The State was declared the first in providing drinking water pipe connections to 60 per cent of its residents under the Jal Jeevan Mission and the award for the achievement was handed over to Nehru by the President of India.
Awards under the Swacch Bharat Mission 2.0 were for Rameswaram Municipality winning the first prize for the cleanest town among towns with less than 50,000 population and Pothanur in Coimbatore district that was declared as the cleanest place among towns with 15,000 to 25,000 population.
