Nikhil Kumaraswamy wedding low key, on schedule
Bengaluru: The ongoing Corona virus crisis has forced former Prime Minister Deve Gowda family to hold a low key wedding of his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy, but as per scheduled on April 17.
Soon after COVID-19 started spreading in the State and the country headed for lockdown, Nikhil's father and former chief minister Mr H D Kumaraswamy had abandoned the grand wedding plans.
Now, the two families have decided that the wedding ceremony would be at home on April 17 and only family members would attend. However, whether the ceremony would be held at Kumaraswamy's house or at the house of bride is yet to be decided.
Earlier, Kumaraswamy had grand plans of holding his son's wedding in sprawling 125 acres of land between Ramanagar and Chennapattana towns.
While Kumaraswamy represent Chennapattana Assembly constituency, his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy represents Ramanagar constituency.
The required land had been taken on lease and construction of pendals in the ground had already begun. However, the work was stopped just two days before lockdown was announced.
Meanwhile, the family is still nursing hopes of grand function in the venue decided earlier. In Ramanagar on Monday, Kumaraswamy said that he would hold a function for the people of constituency after Corona Virus crisis fizzles out.
