German language training for nurses by AP government starts
VIJAYAWADA: The AP government started a German language training programme for nurses at KL University, Guntur, on Thursday.
The two-month training is offered by APSSDC, APNRTS, OMCAP, TAKT International UK and Auxila Akademie Germany. It would involve 150 nurses from across AP, who will be trained up to B1 Level in the German language.
Suresh Nair, principal secretary to SD&T, AP government, said, “This language training has multiple stakeholders working together. The nurses will get a B1 certificate in the German language, which would enable them to gain a visa to work in Germany.”
The training cost will be borne by the AP government. The nurses will have to pay the visa processing fee.”
B. Navya, director of employment and training, said foreign language proficiency will open doors to a new world of opportunities for AP nurses.
B. Valli, deputy director of the nursing department said communication is a vital component of nursing in understanding the patient. She thanked APSSDC for facilitating opportunities abroad for nurses.
Raj Singh, CEO TAKT International, welcomed all the 150 nurses to the language training programme, the first of its kind in India. He said six German trainers will be arriving for teaching the German language. Six Indian trainers in the German language have been recruited for the programme.
Once these 150 nurses reach Germany, they would undergo another six months of language training for B2 proficiency. The logistics of the stay will be taken care of by TAKT International during those six months.
