HYDERABAD: Muttaiah, whose two-wheeler was run over by a van at a petrol pump in Marriguda on Friday, succumbed at Osmania general hospital here on Sunday.
His wife, S. Pullamma, who was on the pillion seat, had died a few hours after the accident.
They were residents of Arugandlapalli village in Marriguda mandal, Nalgonda district.
According to police, the couple had gone to a petrol pump at Marriguda to fill fuel. When they were coming out from the fuel station, the van hit the bike causing severe injuries to both.
"The body of Pullamma was shifted to Arugandlapalli where her final rites were performed on Saturday," police said.
Marriguda police registered a case of negligent driving causing death against the DCM driver, who fled after abandoning the vehicle at the place of offence.
