Kishan: TS dragging on RRR's land acquisition

HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi simultaneously laid the foundation stone for 508 railway stations across the country in a virtual ceremony on Sunday, including 21 in Telangana and six in the city.

The Prime Minister said ‘a new and vibrant India is moving fast towards the goal of Viksit Bharat Abhiyan. There is renewed energy, new inspirations and new resolutions”.

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union minister and BJP state president were present at the Hyderabad railway station where the South Central Railway had organised an event. Hyderabad is one of the stations to benefit from Amrit Bharat Station Yojana, along with Malakpet, Hitec City, Malkajgiri, Hafizpet and Uppuguda.

Kishan Reddy said that the Centre had completed the survey for the Regional Ring Road (RRR) but the state government was delaying the process of acquiring land for the project. The Centre is committed to providing connectivity between the RRR and the railway line, he said.
SCR general manager Arun Kumar Jain was present at the event where students from some schools had been invited.

Kishan Reddy, said, “The Prime Minister’s vision is to develop rail infrastructure and network to make every rail journey safe and comfortable. The railway ministry has sanctioned 12 new projects for Telangana at a total cost of Rs 8, 494 crore. This includes 731 km of six new lines, doubling and tripling. The Hyderabad station is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 309 crore. Kachiguda station is next in line.”

Dr Soundarajan, who shared her travel experience in trains, said “this scheme will be helpful for the development of the state and useful for the general public, patients, students and middle-class vendors.”
