Rude behaviour of zoo staff bringing disrepute to state
Hyderabad: Visitors to the 60-year-old Nehru Zoological Park, aka zoo, are complaining of nightmarish experiences. While the rude behaviour of the staff is humiliating, the facilities that are mentioned in the billboard are not available, rued most visitors.
Deccan Chronicle has shot a video of several visitors and their complaints.
Rajesh Kumar, a government employee from Chhattisgarh who came along with his wife and son, said, “ I was not allowed towards the bison and birds enclosures. When I asked why, the security personnel rudely said that the zoo was closed. When I said that it was just 4.10 pm, we were asked to leave the zoo premises. The staff doesn’t even give proper information. We are leaving the city disheartened.”
Many complained that although they were issued tickets for the safari, they were told a little later that the safari was closed ahead of time. This was disclosed by Mahesh from Maharashtra, who came with five family members.
Another family, which was here from Mumbai, had equally bitter experiences. Nawaz Shaik said, “Our family paid for the buggy (auto cart) but this was denied to us. After waiting for a long time with no response, we moved around on foot.”
A zoo officer, Amar Singh, said, “Its 4:30 pm and the day’s hours are over. We have to chase you guys out.”
