BHOPAL: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would perhaps never forget her encounter with an episode of its kind when she visited Indore in Madhya Pradesh to address a Congress rally on Monday.
Much to her amusement, an unidentified ‘Congress’ leader presented her a bouquet sans flowers when she was going to address the party rally ahead of the November 17 assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.
“Where are the flowers”, a puzzled Ms Vadra was heard asking the Congress leaders gathered around her at the dais, leaving them speechless.
She later burst into laughter making the situation light.
A video capturing the bizarre incident went viral on social media on Tuesday, prompting the BJP to take pot shots at Congress over the incident.
‘Ms Vadra must have learnt by now how Congress leaders are cheating people. She was fooled by her own party leader. She must have realised by now how Congress is cheating people”, BJP spokesman Narendra Saluja said.
Ms Vadra later slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for having failed to arrest the soaring prices of essential commodities.
She cited the sudden spurt in the price of onion and the quantum jump in LPG price and said that no steps have been taken to remove misery of the people caused by the inflation.
She also targeted the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government calling it ‘corrupt and incompetent’.
The Congress leader said that it was her party which alone could give good governance to the state and appealed to the people to bring Congress to power in the state in the upcoming assembly polls.
